7/31/2018Bretthauer Road Oil Company $1381 Ck#521 For oiling the road for dust control
  1. Old business:
    1. Update on the bridge work to be done someday by BPA. The designer for the work (OTAK) lost their contract with BPA this summer, they should get it back.
  2. New Business:
    1. Accident on Glenwood bridge in the last quarter of 2017: cost for labor and materials fully reimbursed by State Farm Insurance (the driver’s insurance company).
    2. Gary Miller is prepared to give an updated cost presentation at the Sept 12th meeting for the mailboxes and parcel boxes. (Last year, we approved mailboxes, but neglected to include parcel boxes, which are crucial.) A VOTE WILL BE TAKEN FOR THIS.
    3. Jake Lorenz suggests trying reclaimed/ground-up asphalt on Glenwood Lane next time we need rock, may eliminate the need for oiling the road.
    4. Discuss how we may be able to slow cars down coming off the highway then down the ramp to the bridge, would flashing speed signs (showing your speed) help?
    5. Installing the Wen/Ken solution at the ends of the bridge, the designer Wendy has been located so we may get the design from her sooner than later.
    6. Discuss slowing traffic on Glenwood lane, this year we had to grade out “wash boarding” twice, this is the first time ever we have had this issue, it is solely caused by hard acceleration and driving too fast.
    7. Kids on motorbikes – used to move to the side of the road, wait until car passed. Now, passing cars, (sometimes on the right!) throwing gravel, and already a near head-on accident.
    8. THANK YOU for the email addresses!!!! This really is helping – Printing out 3 versus 30 agendas/minutes/accounts saves on paper, stamps, and mostly, my time! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
    9. Thank you to John McGinnis, Jim Johansen, and Rick LaFave for all of their work dealing with fixing the bridge, and Jim Johansen for going to court to testify.
    10. Officer elections: The Vice President position (3 year term) is up for election.
    11. Open forum. Good of the order.
  3. Meeting adjournment.
