Treasurer’s report was read and by Shelley J. and approved.
Acct. Balance as of 9-30-15 $10,146.59, currently in arrears, $975.00 for 2014-15 dues.
As a reminder to all, our current dues for 2016 became due on Sept. 2nd 2015.
Sorry that this is late in getting done. I’ve been without a computer for a while, our old computer crashed and we had to buy a new one and it’s taking me awhile to get used to it.
Our expenses so far for 2015 are approx. $2,530.00. Our annual dues takes in $2.175.00 if everyone pays their dues for each year. We spent $900.00 for oiling the road, about $75.00 for the light pole for the year, approx. $160.00 for office supplies and 2 loads of rock $400.00.
Jacob Lorenz has been maintaining our road with his bob cat for a few years now. Last year we paid him only for his diesel cost. After Jim had a discussion with Jacob about hiring him to maintain our road, he agreed to do all the maintenance and snow removal for us. Since we no longer have volunteers to do the work, we feel that paying Jacob for his work is only fair and equitable. He normally charges his customers $70.00 an hour, but he has agreed to give us a break and only charge us $50.00 an hour. So far, for this year he has charged us 20 hours. That comes to $ 1,000.00. Last year we spent approx. $2,200.00. We were $25.00 in the red. (For the first time.) This year we are approx. $425.00 in the red. We had a discussion about raising the dues to meet our maintenance costs and we all agreed that it should be raised to $100.00 a year. We all voted unanimously. So please make your checks out for 2016 in the amount of $100.00.
We had a general discussion about getting some sandwich signs to put along the road to help slow everyone down, we thought this was a good suggestion. Would anybody like to look into the cost for these kinds of signs? Mike Smith said that people need to slow down at Grover road intersection; he has seen some close calls there.
Jeff Zimmerman has a concern over someone getting hit there at the ramp, where people come across the road from the store. The arborvitae bushes keep them (children in particular) from seeing our cars drive up the ramps. He personally had a close call and so have I. Those bushes need to be cut back or cut down. Anybody wish to volunteer? Please give us a call.
Also we need to remind people that we can NOT have children under 16 riding motorbikes on Glenwood Lane. Due to the Liability. Please observe our Sign that is POSTED on Glenwood Ln.
Carol Stewart was concerned about the attendance of our members at our meetings. With so little interest by our members to attend, we had another discussion at this meeting too about the need to hire a management co. This will make our dues go up significantly. We will take a vote about this at our next meeting. She suggested that she would like to write a letter to everyone to encourage participation. She also said that they would like to have a neighborhood picnic this spring at their house. Hope you all can come!
Gary wants to remind everyone that Wash. Co TAXES do not pay for our road.
Jim talked to Ken Adamson again about the bridge abutments; he said he thought that the work would finely get done this next summer in 2016. So let us keep our fingers crossed.
The office for V.P. was open and Jim nominated Carol Stewart. It was 2nd. And approved by all.
Thank you very much to Leora for serving as V.P. Meeting adjourned at 11:15 am
You will find a copy of an updated phone list of with this letter. Thanks, Shelley-Sec/Treas.
