IV Old Business
- Maintenance of Glenwood Lane Discussion about low spots in front of Smith’s home and sharp drop-off on the creek side of the road. Suggestions to apply rock and gravel to low spots and place logs as barriers on the creek side. Jim mentioned liability issues if someone were to run off road. The Association has discussed this before and needs to act. Rick and Mike agreed to help get these two problems fixed. Fallen logs are available in the creek and can be used. Ed asked if Glenwood Lane needs further grading and rock at the same time. Discussion ensued.
1a motion made, seconded and carried to ask Dover to assess road and recommend appropriate remedies. Mike and Jim will contact him. Rick and Mike will see about the logs.
- Interest Bearing Accounts At last year’s meeting it was asked whether the Association might put some funds into an interest bearing account. Sec-Treas discussed this with the bank which confirmed the Association would be required to provide reports to the government regarding interest, officers, etc. The small amount of interest earned would not offset the nuisance of such reporting. It was agreed to leave the account as it is.
V New Business
1 Election of President Thanks were given to outgoing President Ed Willis. Nominations or volunteers called for new President. Mike Smith volunteered and was unanimously approved.
- Good of the Order Jim mentioned continuing improvements of Glenwood properties but also noted fewer members attend meetings. He offered to lead personal visits in the next year to encourage participation. Discussion ensued about whether to hand-deliver meeting notices. Susan recommended to continue mailing notices and to use personal visits as community outreach. Discussion and agreement among members. Rick offered to accompany Jim.
It was agreed to make the weekend after Labor Day the Association’s regular annual meeting date. In 2008 the meeting will be held at President Mike Smith’s.
VI President Smith adjourned the meeting at 11:15. Submitted by Sec-Treas Susan Munger
